Finding Hope with CRPS - My Journey

Hey all,

I wanted to share a bit about my journey with CRPS. I was diagnosed about five years ago after a fracture in my ankle didn’t heal properly. The pain was relentless, and I honestly thought I’d never have a normal life again. I’ve tried many treatments over the years—nerve blocks, physical therapy, and various medications like pregabalin and duloxetine. While these helped to some extent, what really made a difference for me was a combination of mindfulness meditation and graded motor imagery.

Mindfulness helped me manage the emotional toll of chronic pain, while graded motor imagery, which involves visualizing movements without actually performing them, helped retrain my brain’s response to pain. It’s not a cure, but it has significantly improved my quality of life. For anyone feeling hopeless, know that there are ways to manage CRPS, and it’s worth exploring all options.

Stay strong, everyone!
