Managing Depression with Medication and Therapy

Hello community,

I’ve been dealing with depression on and off for the last decade, and it’s been a tough journey. After trying several different treatments, I’m currently on sertraline and attending regular therapy sessions. While the medication has helped stabilize my mood, therapy has been crucial in helping me understand and manage my triggers.

One thing I’ve learned is the importance of self-compassion during this process. I used to be so hard on myself for not “snapping out of it,” but now I realize that depression is a serious condition, not something I can just will away. For anyone struggling with the idea of taking medication, know that it’s okay to seek help in whatever form you need.

Has anyone else found a combination of treatments that works well for them? I’d love to hear about your experience
