Peritoneal Carcinomatosis occurs when cancer spreads to the peritoneum, the thin tissue lining the abdomen. It may originate from cancers such as ovarian, colorectal, gastric, pancreatic, or appendix cancer. Symptoms often include abdominal pain, bloating, swelling, nausea, loss of appetite, weight changes, fatigue, and sometimes fluid buildup (ascites). Treatment may involve chemotherapy, HIPEC, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, or palliative care depending on the primary cancer and overall health.
