My Experience with TMJ and Physical Therapy

Hello community,

I’ve been suffering from TMJ disorder for almost a year now, and it has been a challenging journey. My dentist recommended physical therapy, which I started a few months ago, and it has made a significant difference. The therapist taught me several exercises that help strengthen my jaw muscles and improve my range of motion.

One exercise that has been really effective for me involves placing my tongue on the roof of my mouth while gently opening and closing my jaw. I also do some gentle massaging of the jaw muscles with my fingertips, which helps alleviate tension.

If you’re dealing with TMJ, I highly recommend trying physical therapy. It’s helped me a lot more than just using a night guard or taking painkillers. Stay positive, everyone!
