Hi all,
I’ve been living with a hernia for a few years now. It started as a small bulge in my abdomen and, at first, didn’t cause much pain. However, over the past six months, the pain has become more frequent and intense, especially when lifting anything heavy or even just standing for long periods. My doctor has recommended surgery, but I’m hesitant because of the recovery time and potential complications.
I’ve read that some people live with hernias for years without surgery, but I’m worried about the pain getting worse or the hernia becoming strangulated. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you decide whether to have surgery or not? Any advice on managing the pain or tips on what to consider when making this decision would be greatly appreciated.
