Recovering from Achilles Tendonitis – My Experience

Hello community,

I’ve been recovering from Achilles tendonitis for about six months now, and it’s been a slow and frustrating process. I’m an avid runner, and not being able to run has been tough. My doctor recommended a combination of physical therapy, rest, and anti-inflammatory medications, which have helped, but I still experience some pain after walking long distances.

One thing that has been particularly helpful is calf stretches. I do them several times a day, and they’ve made a big difference in reducing stiffness. I’ve also started using a foam roller to massage my calves, which helps with muscle tightness.

For anyone dealing with Achilles tendonitis, my advice is to be patient and consistent with your rehab exercises. It’s tempting to rush back into activity, but taking it slow has been key to my recovery. Does anyone have any other tips for dealing with Achilles tendonitis or preventing future flare-ups?

Thanks for your input!
