I’m about two weeks into a shingles outbreak, and while the rash is starting to crust over, the pain is still pretty intense. I’m on acyclovir, and it seems to be helping a bit with the healing process, but I’m not sure what to expect next. How long did it take for the pain to subside for you?

I’ve been trying to rest as much as possible, and I’m also taking gabapentin for nerve pain, which has helped some. However, I still feel really fatigued and uncomfortable. For those who have been through this, what helped you the most during recovery? Any tips on how to handle the lingering pain and fatigue?
