Treating Severe Sunburn - What Worked for Me

Hey everyone,

Last summer, I got a severe sunburn on my back and shoulders after spending the entire day at an outdoor festival. It was so painful that I couldn’t even wear a shirt for a few days. After trying a few different remedies, here’s what worked best for me:

  1. Aloe Vera Gel: I kept it in the fridge so it was extra cold when applied. It helped soothe the burning sensation.
  2. Hydration: I drank a lot of water to keep my skin hydrated from the inside out.
  3. Over-the-Counter Pain Relief: I took ibuprofen to help with the pain and reduce inflammation.
  4. Moisturizing Lotion: After a few days, when the burn started to peel, I used a gentle, fragrance-free lotion to keep my skin from getting too dry.

It took about a week for the worst of it to heal, but these steps definitely helped speed up the recovery. If anyone else has tips for treating a severe sunburn, please share!
