Exploring Alternative Treatments for TMJ Hey all, I’ve been struggling with TMJ for a couple of years, and I’m looking for alternative treatments to help manage the pain. I’ve tried the usual treatments like mouthguards and anti-inflammatory medications, but I’m still experiencing discomfort. Recently, I’ve been reading about alternative therapies like **acupuncture** and **chiropractic care** for TMJ. Has anyone tried these treatments? Did you find them helpful in reducing pain and improving jaw function? I’d love to hear about any experiences with alternative therapies or any other unconventional treatments that have worked for you. I’m willing to try anything that could bring some relief! My Experience with TMJ and Physical Therapy Hello community, I’ve been suffering from TMJ disorder for almost a year now, and it has been a challenging journey. My dentist recommended physical therapy, which I started a few months ago, and it has made a significant difference. The therapist taught me several exercises that help strengthen my jaw muscles and improve my range of motion. One exercise that has been really effective for me involves placing my tongue on the roof of my mouth while gently opening and closing my jaw. I also do some gentle massaging of the jaw muscles with my fingertips, which helps alleviate tension. If you’re dealing with TMJ, I highly recommend trying physical therapy. It’s helped me a lot more than just using a night guard or taking painkillers. Stay positive, everyone! Seeking Relief for TMJ Pain Hi everyone, I’ve been dealing with TMJ pain for a while now, and it’s really starting to impact my daily life. The pain is mostly in my jaw and sometimes radiates to my ear. I’ve tried using a mouthguard at night, but it doesn’t seem to be helping much. Does anyone have any other suggestions for managing TMJ pain? I’ve heard that certain exercises can help, but I’m not sure where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
