AGARO Digital Blood Pressure Monitor TMB-2283

Overview

The AGARO TMB-2283 is an automatic upper-arm blood pressure monitor for home use. It measures by the oscillometric method and shows systolic and diastolic pressure (in mmHg or kPa) and the pulse rate on a large LCD, next to a coloured scale and the time and date. It runs on four AAA alkaline batteries, which are included, and weighs 189 g.

To take a reading, the cuff tube plugs into the socket on the left side of the unit, the cuff is wrapped around the bare upper arm 1 to 2 cm above the elbow, and the user sits or lies with the arm resting on a flat surface so the cuff is level with the heart. One press of the Start/Stop button inflates the cuff automatically and the result appears on the LCD; the user should stay still and quiet during the measurement. The unit stores up to 99 readings for each of two users, the M button recalls previous records, an average of stored readings can be shown, and the monitor flags an irregular heartbeat during measurement. The medium cuff fits arms of 22 to 36 cm (8.7 to 14.2 in) and is latex free.
