Description
Small enough for a coat pocket, warm enough to notice. Deep Heat Muscle Massage Roll-on is a 50 ml warming lotion with a rollerball top, so you can rub it into a sore neck, shoulder or back without getting it all over your hands.
Where the warmth comes from
The two key ingredients are rosemary leaf oil and vanillyl butyl ether, which creates the warming sensation as you massage it in. Deep Heat describes it as drug-free and non-greasy, with a herbal scent. People use it before exercise as part of a warm-up, after a gym session, or during a long day at a desk.
Using it
- Twist off the cap, roll it onto the area and massage it in.
- Go easy the first time. How warm it feels varies a lot between people.
- Reapply if needed, replace the cap, and wash your hands afterwards.
Who it’s not for
Deep Heat says not to use it on children under 12, or if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. Skip it if you’re sensitive to warming ingredients or fragrances. It’s for external use only. Keep it away from your eyes, sensitive areas, and broken or irritated skin. If it gets in your eyes, rinse with plenty of water and get medical advice.
A warming product can irritate
Products that heat the skin can cause irritation and, more rarely, burns or blisters. Don’t use it with a heating pad, under a tight bandage, or right before a hot bath. Stop if your skin reacts, and get advice if symptoms continue. Full ingredients are listed on the pack, including propylene glycol, limonene and linalool, if you have known sensitivities.
Muscle pain that lasts more than a couple of weeks, or back pain with leg numbness or weakness, is worth a check with a doctor.
