Description
Your calves are tight, the arches of your feet ache after a long shift, and you’d like something stronger than your own thumbs. A percussion massager is one answer, and the Hypervolt 3 Pro is built around control.
Six speeds and a pressure sensor
It runs from 1500 to 2500 RPM over six speeds. A built-in pressure sensor shows how hard you’re pressing, which helps you go gently on tender spots and lean in on big muscles like the thighs. If you are new to massage guns, that feedback is useful.
Five heads, one of them warm
Five interchangeable attachments come with it, including a Heated Head Attachment. Use broad heads for large areas and the focused ones for small knots. Warmth is a nice extra on a cold day, though go easy if your skin is sensitive to heat.
Living with it
- QuietGlide keeps it around 51 dB, quiet enough for evenings with someone nearby.
- Up to 4 hours of battery.
- A pill-shaped handle, TSA-friendly design and a carry case in the box.
- FSA/HSA eligible.
Where to be careful
Ankles and heels are bony, and percussion can feel harsh there. Start on the lowest speed and keep off joints and bone. Hyperice advises checking with a clinician first if you are pregnant or have circulation concerns, nerve problems, or a recent injury or surgery. Don’t use it over a swollen calf you can’t explain.
Pain in the foot that lasts for weeks, or that is worst with the first steps of the morning, is worth getting checked. The free Pain Check-Up can help you work out next steps, and the ankle, foot and heel pain groups are a friendly place to ask.
