About this product

Percussion massagers vary a lot in how hard they hit and how noisy they are. The PlayMakar MVP+ sits at the powerful end, and this bundle adds a charging dock that keeps the massager and its heads together.

Under the hood

A 24V high-torque brushless motor runs at 1,000 to 3,000 percussions per minute across 6 speeds, with a 14 mm stroke and up to 58 lbs of stall force (how hard you can press before it stalls). PlayMakar’s QuietVybe weight balancing is meant to cut vibration in your hand and keep noise under 48 dB, quieter than normal conversation. Sealed metal bearings sit inside.

Controls that stay put

A touchscreen replaces buttons and dials. SpeedLock holds your chosen speed so it doesn’t shift mid-session, which is handy if your hand brushes the screen.

The four heads in this bundle

  • ImpactBall: for quads, glutes and hamstrings.
  • 1.5″ EchoBall: for large or small areas.
  • Shoc: general use.
  • AcuTrigger: pinpoints smaller areas.

The heads are made of responsive silica with EchoFlex air channels that flex to the body’s curves, and they’re safe with oils and lotions. HeatTip, GlidePro, ShocDuo and Edge & Bullet heads aren’t included; PlayMakar sells them separately or in other bundles.

Battery, with a caveat

The main text claims up to 5 hours per charge, 2.5 lbs and under 48 dB, but PlayMakar’s own spec panel lists 3.5 hours, 2.3 lbs and 45 dB. Plan on the shorter battery figure. The PowerUp Charging Station is a 2-in-1 dock that charges the massager and holds the heads; a power supply, charging cable and manual are included.

Go gently

This is a strong device. Start on a low speed, especially on bony or sensitive areas, and keep it moving. Avoid the spine, neck, joints and any bruised or numb area. If you’re pregnant, recovering from an injury or surgery, or managing a medical condition, check with a clinician first.

Muscle soreness is one thing; pain that’s sharp, spreading or comes with tingling is another. The free Pain Check-Up can help you tell the difference, and the sports injury and recovery groups share plenty of massage tips.
