Description
A back roller you can choose the pressure on is handy when your back has good days and bad days. The Chirp Wheel+ 3-Pack gives you three wheels of different diameters: bigger ones for a wide arc and lighter pressure, smaller ones for stronger pressure on a smaller area.
How you use a Chirp Wheel
Lie back over a wheel on the floor, or lean against it on a wall, and roll slowly. Your spine sits in a groove that runs around the middle, so the pressure goes either side of it. Chirp suggests 5 to 10 minutes at a time, and switching to a wall roll if the floor version feels too intense. The maker also shows neck, leg, IT band and glute rolls.

Things to know
- Chirp’s 3-Pack page does not list the three exact sizes, so check the seller’s page before ordering.
- Most moves happen on the floor, so you need to be able to get down and up again.
- The smallest wheel can feel strong at first; start with the biggest.
Safety
Chirp advises checking with a medical professional first if you have a spinal condition. That also goes if you are pregnant or recovering from an injury. Stop if you feel sharp pain, tingling or numbness. Back pain with leg weakness, fever, or bladder or bowel changes needs prompt medical care.
If your back is a puzzle, the free Pain Check-Up is free, and the back and neck pain groups trade stretching routines.
