About this product

Night after night of heartburn, or a stomach that only settles when you are propped up, can make bedtime something to dread. Stacking pillows rarely works for long. They slide apart and you end up bent at the waist, which can make things worse. A single foam wedge gives one smooth slope from your hips to your head instead.

Choosing a height

7-inch 24 × 24 × 7 in, a gentle lift
10-inch 24 × 24 × 10 in
12-inch 24 × 24 × 12 in, the steepest

Choose carefully: the 10-inch and 12-inch wedges are final sale, while the 7-inch has Brentwood Home’s 30-day return window. If you have never slept on an incline, the lowest one is the safer place to start.

More than one use

Brentwood Home designed it for sleeping on a slope, sitting up to read or work in bed, and propping yourself up to watch TV on the floor or sofa. Turn it around and it becomes a leg lift, for when you want your legs raised at the end of the day.

Materials

The support foam is 1.8 lb density at 30 ILD, made with BioFoam and CertiPUR-US certified. That is firm, so expect support rather than sink-in softness. The cover is a stretchy, soft knit made from bamboo-derived rayon that unzips for machine washing. Replacement covers are sold separately. It is designed and made in Los Angeles with domestic and imported materials, and comes with a 1-year limited warranty.

Practical notes

At 24 inches square, it takes up a good chunk of the bed and needs a spot to live during the day. Some people need a night or two to get used to sleeping on a slope. If you have ongoing digestive symptoms or are not sure elevated sleep suits you, check with your clinician. Trouble swallowing, vomiting, black stools or unexplained weight loss need prompt medical attention.

The free ItHurts Pain Check-Up can help you track what is going on, and the abdominal and digestive pain groups share what helps at night.
