Description
Wrist sore after a week of typing, lifting or gardening, but you do not want a stiff splint getting in the way? A compression sleeve is a lighter step. This Physiologix wrist support, from its Advanced moderate-support range, is the Medium size (SKU PX220).
Size it before anything else
Measure around the wrist joint. Medium fits 5 to 8 inches (13 to 20 cm). Physiologix says its sizes are a guideline and may vary slightly.
- Small: 3–5 in / 8–13 cm
- Medium: 5–8 in / 13–20 cm
- Large: 8–10 in / 20–25 cm
- Extra Large: 10–12 in / 25–30 cm
Design details
A hexagonal cell pattern focuses compression around the joint. Trilastic 3D fabric is used for a comfortable, ergonomic fit. Silicone beading helps it stay where you put it, and pull tabs make it easier to get on when your wrist does not want to bend.
About the range
Physiologix is a sports therapy tape and support line developed by Fleming Medical in 2017 with chartered physiotherapists and professional athletes, and recognized by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. Supports come in four levels: Essential, Advanced, Ultimate and Custom. If moderate is not right for you, there are lighter and firmer options.
When a sleeve is not enough
If your wrist pain is severe, ongoing or follows a fall or injury, see a physiotherapist or doctor before relying on a support. Pain in the wrist after a fall onto an outstretched hand, or numbness and tingling in the fingers, should be checked.
The free Pain Check-Up is a quick way to look at what is behind your wrist pain, and the wrist, hand and finger groups know repetitive strain well.
