Description
Pre-cut strips are handy, but if you tape often, a roll gives you more freedom to cut each piece to the length and shape you need. Physiologix Kinesiology Tape comes as a 5 cm by 5 m roll.
The tape
It’s stretch cotton with elastic fibers and a latex-free adhesive. Physiologix says it’s close to human skin in thickness and elasticity, which is why it can be worn without binding or restricting movement. The adhesive is breathable and water resistant for long-lasting stick. Colors: beige (this listing), black, blue and pink.
Where people tape
The tape can go on almost any area. Physiologix lists uses including:
- neck and shoulder strain during desk days or training
- tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow and sore wrists
- hamstring and quad strains, runner’s knee and shin splints
- plantar fasciitis and Achilles discomfort
- light support around the ribs, back or glutes
Many people like the light support and the reminder to move well. It’s comfort and feedback, not a fix for what’s behind the pain.
Cutting and applying
With a roll, technique matters more. Look up a proper guide for your body area, or ask a physiotherapist to show you once. Round the corners of each piece with scissors so they peel less. Apply to skin that’s clean, dry and hair-free. One 5 m roll covers a limited number of applications, so regular users may want a spare.
Skip it or ask first if
your skin is sensitive or broken, you have circulation problems, or your pain is ongoing. Take it off if your skin itches or reddens. Sudden pain with swelling after an injury, or a calf that’s hot and swollen, needs a doctor first.
Shoulder or neck pain hanging on? The free Pain Check-Up can help, and the shoulder pain groups are a good place to ask about taping.
