Description
Most of us start with a stack of pillows under the knees on the couch, or a wedge on the bed. It helps for twenty minutes, then everything slides and your lower back is loading up again. The idea behind this chair is to hold that unloaded, knees-above-hips shape for you, without you having to hold anything at all.
What the zero gravity position actually does for you
The Perfect Chair PC-420 cradles you with your feet above your heart in a neutral posture. Human Touch describes it as inspired by NASA research, and says the position helps reduce spinal pressure, supports circulation and encourages deep relaxation. Many people with chronic low back pain find this is the one position where they can read, nap or just stop bracing. It is comfort and rest, not a fix for what is causing the pain.
The recline is manual on this model. You shift your weight and the mechanism eases you through the recline angles, so there is no motor to wait on and nothing to break on the recline itself. Some people prefer that simplicity. If you have trouble pushing back or getting up from low seating, it is worth trying one in person first.
Three packages, and why the difference matters
- Comfort: cushioned body pad, extended armrests that still support you in full recline, and an articulating headrest with a magnetic clasp. Black SōfHyde upholstery only.
- Performance: everything above plus Memory Foam PLUS seating and a power-adjustable lumbar system. Premium Leather only.
- Supreme: everything above plus the far-infrared Jade Stone Heat System, integrated controls with a power hub and cord management, and a tuxedo back cover.
Bases come in Dark Walnut, Walnut or Matte Black, hand-carved and hand-painted by craftspeople who have finished a two-year apprenticeship. Pad sets range from black SōfHyde through oak, saddle, gray, ivory, black and espresso leather.

Honest limits and heat safety
This is a chair built around reclining. Upright task sitting at a desk is not what it is shaped for. The Performance and Supreme packages need power for the lumbar system and the heat, so the chair has to live near an outlet. And a recliner, however good, is comfort and rest, not care.
If you choose the Supreme package with far-infrared Jade Stone Heat, ask your doctor first if you are pregnant, have reduced sensation or neuropathy, circulation problems, or an implanted device, and keep heat sessions moderate rather than all evening. Pain that is new, severe, or comes with numbness, weakness, fever, or follows an injury needs a clinician, not a new chair.
