Description
Overview
Lumaflex built the Essential as a portable, non-invasive light therapy wrap for people who don’t want a bulky panel. The wrap bends around the body and holds in place with a short or long strap, so you can keep moving while a 10-minute session runs. Red light at 630nm works near the skin surface, while 850nm near-infrared reaches deeper tissue.
It’s an FDA-cleared Class II medical device that also carries CE and FCC clearance; Lumaflex states that its FDA 510(k) clearance covers three application areas: pain management, skin rejuvenation and body contouring. Lumaflex has been recognised by Time Magazine as one of the best inventions of 2023 alongside design awards from Fast Company, ISPO, MUSE and others. A 5200mAh lithium-ion battery gives around 130 minutes of use, roughly 13 sessions, and everything packs into the carry bag.
