Description
Overview
The Echo Flask is a portable, rechargeable bottle from Echo Water that dissolves hydrogen gas (H2) into drinking water. A generator in the base uses electrolysis: a proton exchange membrane (PEM) between platinum-coated titanium plates passes hydrogen into the water, while the oxygen produced is vented out through a port in the base. Echo states that the electrode plates do not touch the drinking water.
The bottle holds 12 oz (354 ml). Echo states up to 6 ppm of dissolved hydrogen after a 10-minute cycle and up to 8 ppm after a 20-minute cycle, citing third-party testing by H2 Analytics. Cycles are started from a touchscreen on the side of the bottle or from the Echo Water app over Bluetooth, which logs water intake, hydrogen intake and completed cycles.
Key features
- PEM hydrogen generator with platinum-coated titanium electrode plates and an oxygen vent port in the base
- Up to 6 ppm after a 10-minute cycle or up to 8 ppm after a 20-minute cycle, as stated by Echo
- Touchscreen display; cycles can be scheduled, paused, shortened or stopped
- Pairs with the Echo Water app (iOS and Android) to track water intake, hydrogen intake and cycles, with Apple Health and Android Health integration
- Locking twist cap with a pressure-release button, and a built-in Clean Flask cycle
- PPSU water-contact surfaces (Echo states BPA-, BPS- and PFAS-free) in a TPU outer housing

What’s in the box
- Echo Flask
- USB-C charging cable
- USB charging block (Echo includes it with US orders and notes it may not be included with international orders)
- Quick Start Guide
Good for
- Making hydrogen water from filtered, RO or distilled water without a plumbed-in machine
- Carrying a refillable bottle to work, the gym or on trips
- Logging daily water intake and hydrogen cycles in the Echo Water app
- Desk or bedside use, charged over USB-C
Things to consider
- Use plain water only: Echo recommends filtered, RO or distilled water, advises against chlorinated water, and says not to add supplements, powders or flavourings to the bottle.
- Hand wash only: do not put it in the dishwasher, submerge it, microwave, refrigerate or freeze it. Echo recommends weekly cleaning plus a white-vinegar descale, weekly to monthly depending on the water used.
- Release the pressure with the button on the cap before and after each cycle. Echo warns the contents may be flammable, so keep it away from open flames, and notes that small drips from the oxygen port are normal, so stand it on a water-safe surface.
- Echo classes the lithium-ion battery as a consumable part that is not covered by the 5-year limited warranty; app and firmware issues are also excluded. Echo advises charging for at least 2.5 hours before first use.
